Chris was one of the first batch of men to be called Upavon, Wiltshire, Eng for 'active service' in the
army. He saw action in Africa. His regiment also undertook guard duty protecting Queen Mary when
she was in residence at Badminton House in the countryside. Chris worked at Parnells Washing Machine factory at Yate, before becoming a bus conductor. |
